In November 2019, the Awards Dinner of the Northern Automotive Alliance was at The Mere in Knutsford and again, I was totally knocked out by the standard of the submissions and I was delighted to host for the 5th time. From the major vehicle designers and assemblers through to their supply chain partners who feed into them. The automotive sectors total distribution channels remain a major contributor to UK GDP but have endured severe pressure for some 3 years now. The rapid change of options in low carbon power alternatives, to their future logistics map and investment through the EU politics of leave or remain, has made investment decisions uncertain.
Congratulations to one of the world’s leading independent converters of carbon fibre in Runcorn based Sigmatex – winner of the 2019 NAA ‘Bentley Motors Company of the Year Award’.
All the award winners are so well deserved, for managing and creating future change for all stakeholders of which many have pioneered Industry 4.0 technologies. Other manufacturers and producers of goods and services can learn so much from Automotive logistics, project planning and design which is known for its collaborations and investment in skills.
Can't wait to see what's coming over the hill - what will your car ‘look and feel like’ in 10 years?
